There are two types of domain release, depending on the demand for the name:
- The “release process”: The Brazilian domain registry will publish specific dates when the names will be released. The list of domains is made public 2 days before the process begins.
- The “competitive process”: When there is more than one registrant interested in the domain, an auction will be held to award the name to the higher bidder.
